Topshop SS18

This season’s eyes are ultra-modern, a little more adventurous and inarguably versatile.

1. One Shadow Wonder

Eyeshadow in Pretty Purple, €38, Kjaer Weis

Nothing spells spring like a pastel and while lavender eyes might conjure up teen disco nostalgia, the simplicity of a one-shade lid wash feels more contemporary than ever, in our over-complicated reality. The key is applying the product from the lash line all the way up to the brow bone, then layering along the way so the pigment really shows.

2. Black Magic

Voyeur Waterproof Liquid Liner in Ultra Black, €34, Hourglass

Jet black liner is not exactly news, but what is fresh about this season’s eye look is the application and placement. Pushed in, pressed on, swooshed or stenciled, the only guide being that everything is possible. Be bold, have fun and think outside the box... or, ahem, the lines.

3. Heat It Up

Naked Petite Heat, €32, Urban Decay

Sound the alarm – the time to find a little more space in our makeup bags is once again upon us. Urban Decay’s latest Petite Heat palette is the baby sister of the Naked Heat palette and contains six brand new shades: Wild Thing (a scorched orange matte) and Strike (a rich, reddish brown matte) being our red-hot faves for blue or light hued eyes.

4. Pop + Gloss

Colour Chameleon in Amethyst Aphrodisiac, €25, Charlotte Tilbury; Eye Gloss, €36, Tom Ford Beauty

While Charlotte’s been the long-reigning queen of a smokey eye, her Colour Chameleon in Amethyst Aphrodisiac allows you to cheat your way to intensely pigmented lids, with the stroke of a pencil. Apply all over the lid, smudged out and pop an eye gloss over the top for the ultimate seasonal update.

5. Lash Love

Les Yeux Noirs Lash Amplifying Lacquer in Rouge Louboutin, €66, Christian Louboutin Beauty

If a pair of Christian Louboutin’s red soles are slightly out of budget, then rejoice in the knowledge that you can now rock the brand’s iconic hue in a whole new way: on your lashes. Given the bright red formula, it’s not for the faint at heart; try saturating lash tips for an intense but accessible effect.
