Sometimes skin needs a little bit...more. If you're prone to dehydration, dryness or a complexion akin to something like a desert, a hydrating mask can be a real saviour.
From deeply nourishing overnight treatments to fast acting on-the-go formulations to prep skin before makeup, there are lots of options out there. With parched skin a familiar concern in Irish Tatler HQ, the team can vouch for this edit of hydration heroes:
Hydrating B5 Masque, €62.54, Skinceuticals
We’re big fans of Skinceuticals and its moisturure boosting skin saviours. This excellent mask contains hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5. Designed to be used once or twice a week, it’s like a drink for parched skin. If you’re so inclined you can use it wherever there are dry patches on the body: elbows, hands – even feet!
Moisture Surge Overnight Mask, €39, Clinique
Part of Clinique’s much-loved Moisture Surge range, this night time mask is oil and fragrance free. It’s full of soothing, hydrating ingredients including mango seed butter and shea butter to nourish skin while you sleep.
Superskin Overnight Mask, €47.18, Liz Earle
A truly delicious overnight treat that smells incredible. It’s packed with skincare ingredients including Persian silk tree to brighten and rosehip and cranberry seed oils to nourish. A little goes a long way and we’ve seen it restore parched, dull skin by morning.
Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask, €59, Emma Hardie
Emma Hardie products are always a pleasure to use, and the scent alone could quite possibly lower your blood pressure. This intensive mask, with hyaluronic acid, red algae and the brand’s signature moringa seed oil can be used as a ten-minute treat.
Masque-Crème Hydrante, €25, Embryolisse
An intense mask from the cult French skincare band. The deeply moisturising formula, with hyaluronic acid, vitamins and sweet almond oil, works to restore the skin’s protective barrier. (Irish Tatler Managing Ed, Sarah, also uses the classic Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentrate as a parched-skin treat.)
Black Rose Cream Mask, €114, Sisley
This renowned mask from Sisley has a reputation that’s well deserved. Beautiful to use, it gets to work quickly, giving skin a burst of hydration. The soothing formulation contains extract of black rose, essential oils and extract of red vine leaf to improve radiance.
Gold Hydralifting Mask, €139, Omorovicza
If you’re looking for a skin-reviver first thing in the morning or before a big event, this lifting, soothing hero from Omorovicza's will do the job. It’s nourishing, hydrating formula gives skin back its bounce and glow.
Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment, €50.40, Glamglow
One of a number of GlamGlow masks, this one, as the name implies, is designed to treat parched skin. The soothing formulation works to calm skin – and it’s particularly good to use if you’re getting on a flight.
