Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino and Tame Impala have been announced as headliners for the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival 2019. Hello first splurge of January!
The annual music and arts festival founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen takes place over 2 weekends in April, and is looked to the world over as the festival of the year, both in the music and fashion stakes.
Previous headline acts include Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Guns N’ Roses and Drake. Last year Beyonce headlined the festival and even brought out Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for an un-expected Destiny's Child reunion. What kind of surprises do this year's headliners have in store? We'll have to wait and see.
This year's headline acts were announced on Wednesday. Childish Gambino is set to play on both Fridays. The psychedelic rock band Tame Impala are set to play two Saturdays, while Ariana Grande is set to play both Sundays.

Other well established and up-and-coming acts to watch out for include Janelle Monaé, The 1975, Solange, Weezer, who will join the likes of Aphex Twins, CHVRCHES and Dillon Francis. Kanye West was to headline this year before talks that he did not like the size of the stage as it was "artistically limiting". Grande will be the fourth and youngest women to headline Coachella.
Tickets go on sale today Friday, 4th of January at 11am.
