The autumn/winter 19 shows were a veritable feast of fresh beauty inspiration.
It's fashion month again, which means a whole new host of hair and make-up trends to get excited about ahead of the new season.
Need a little help lifting yourself from a beauty rut? Keep reading.
1. English Rose is back and more romantic than ever
While the barely-there make-up look has been around forever, the rise of 'less is more' beauty brands like Glossier have definitely seemed to influence more natural styles on the catwalk as of late.
Think pinched cheeks, fresh skin, brushed brows and no mascara like the models at Simone Rocha and Jamie Wei Huang.
2. Natural brows are going nowhere
One of the kinder beauty trends in recent times has been the laissez-faire attitude when it comes to eyebrows.
As it stands, fashion houses everywhere are sending their models down the catwalk with unbothered, unstructured and unplucked brows – and lazy-girl beauty fans are all here for it.
Step away from the tweezers.
3. Glitter's for life, not just for Christmas
As seen on the catwalks of both Alexa Chung and Halpern, models donned the runway with sparkles piled high.
Strategically placed, however, to stay on-trend. Avoid festival-type shimmer and go straight to the brow bone. Think more is more ––– and don't stop 'til you hit the brow.
4. Coloured streaks are not just for teenagers
Mary Katrantzou’s Fall 2019 collection saw models don rainbow-bright coloured hair streaks, set to line up into four distinct themes, all centred around nature: earth, air, fire, and water.
She worked with stylist Anthony Turner and colourist Josh Wood to create textured, hand-painted hair pieces—all clipped onto the models’ natural tresses—that tied into the colourful fabrics of the clothes.
A less obvious nod to 90s trends, yet modernised beautifully.
5. Two-tone lips
While the beauty world is still reeling from the fascination with plumped lips as of late, Matty Bovan and Simone Rocha are taking it one step further by going all light and shade in a far less subtle way than we're used to.
Pair with a clean face, brushed up brows and just-curled lashes and you're a bonafide Adwoa in the making.
