Dark circles? I don't know her thanks to these concealers.
I know, I know. There are plenty of things in life much worse than shadowy under-eye circles. But that doesn't mean we don't begrudge the fact they're a dead giveaway of last night's spicy margarita(s) and/or a restless night's sleep. Thankfully there are plenty of products on the market to lend a helping hand in the matter
And while these concerns happen to everyone (yes, even people with seemingly poreless skin have dealt with a pimple or two at some point) that doesn't mean you have to show them off as a badge of honour, especially if you don't want to. A few dabs of concealer and poof, that pesky breakout is virtually invisible. But that's not even the best part. You can enjoy these benefits without cutting into your savings stash. The drugstore offers plenty of budget-friendly concealers to help you out.
Concealer is my #2 makeup bag staple (eyeliner will always come first), so you can trust me when I say I've tried them all. From the crazy-expensive to the cheap as chips, I leave no stone unturned in my quest for coverage. Thankfully, this means I have a whole host of favourites for your concealing needs. Whether it's disguising blemishes, brightening the under-eyes or evening out your skin tone, I've got plenty of recommendations to get the job done. Keep scrolling to shop the best cheap concealers.
BEST BUDGET CONCEALERS:
Catrice's Liquid Camouflage Concealer is the proud owner of endless positive reviews from consumers, YouTubers, makeup artists, beauty bloggers and editors alike. Considering its affordable price tag, it's super high coverage, extremely lightweight, lasts all day and does a pretty good job at covering spots and dark circles, plus there's a lot in the tube for just €4.
Liquid Camouflage Concealer, €3.95, Catrice
For dry skin, your best bet is a concealer with a hydrating formula that also doesn’t cling to dry patches. This NYX Professional Makeup HD Concealer smooths out skin for a natural-looking finish without creasing but isn’t overly dewy. Use this to hide undereye bags or spot-conceal all over your face.
Professional Makeup HD Photogenic Concealer Wand, €8, NYX
The beauty community went wild when Makeup Revolution launched its Conceal & Define Concealer. It is similarly full coverage, long-wearing and has an equally great doe-foot applicator. Plus, it's just €5.
Conceal & Define, €5, Makeup Revolution
One of the beauty world's worst kept secret: the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. Full coverage at just a fraction of the price. The thing I love most about it is that it honestly stays put for as long as you need it to, so there's no need to touch things up throughout the day.
Lasting Perfection Concealer, €5.79, Collection
Considering all of the love this concealer gets (from makeup artists to bloggers to reviewers), it's astonishing how amazingly affordable this dark circle–discouraging concealer is. Armed with radiance enhancers like goji berry and haloxyl, puffiness, shadows, and even fine lines don't stand a chance. Plus, the fun, ultra-plush cushion applicator alone is enough reason alone to buy it.
Eraser Eye Concealer, €11.99, Maybelline
Although this dupe from Wet n Wild might not be super silky soft in texture, this concealer costs only €5, and the reason I consider it to be a dupe is the dewy finish it delivers on the skin. This concealer does an amazing job of concealing without ever making pores look clogged or leaving skin looking flaky.
Megaglo Makeup Stick, €5, Wet N Wild
