BTS at the Women of the Year Awards with Lancôme

The glamour didn't skimp on luxury...

On Saturday 13 November, Irish Tatler hosted the Women of the Year Awards in the Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin. Always a glam affair, Lancôme was on hand to get a selection of the guests ready for the celebrations. Ahead, a look at what when on behind the scenes...

When it comes to events, call times tend to be early regardless of when the celebrations really begin and that was certainly the case for Fortunato Benavoli, Lancôme's national make-up artist for the UK and Ireland.

With his Glam Suite set up from first light, Fortunato stocked his kit with lots of Lancôme's well-loved products from Lash Idôle Mascara mascara to Long Time No Shine setting powder and the Intimatte lipsticks. But some new products caught our attention too. The make-up artist raved about a recent Lancôme release, Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer, which he said is perfect for using before events or on-set as it's super lightweight but boasts good coverage and has a satin-velvet finish.

The Make-Up Looks

With a pre-event roster that included five different faces, Fortunado worked with each of the guests to create make-up looks that complemented what they were wearing on the night, but he agreed that great skin prep was key across the board.

For Fortunado, Lancôme's Absolue range is the gold standard in skincare, so depending on the individual needs, he alternated between the Rich Cream, the newly reformulated Regenerating Oleo Serum and the Revitalising Eye Cream for skin that looked radiant and fresh.

In terms of the makeup looks themselves; Lauren Arthurs opted for bold brows and a metallic eye, while Aoife Walsh kept things sophisticated with a peachy complexion and clean liner flick. Louise McSharry got the perfect smokey eye with a hint of icy blue,  while Louise Cooney went for a two-pronged statement lashes and a bright red lip (Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Drama Mix in shade 196, for those curious) to set off her monochrome dress.

Last in the Lancôme chair was Dearbhla Toal, who came dressed to attend the event in a beautiful emerald green maxi dress. Fortunado wanted to work with the gorgeous green tones within the dress, whilst playing on Dearbhla's own pale blue eyes.
