WATCH: Chanel's Guide To Faux Freckles, Bold Eyeshadow And More

Sixties Sensibility

Go your own way by mixing shapes, textures and colours for a look that screams 'it girl'.

Freckles give the skin an instant a sporty sun-kissed feel when embraced during the hot summer months. But if you are not genetically blessed with a smattering of well-placed dots like Adwoa Aboah, take a beauty cue from Lucia Pica, Global Creative Make-up and Colour Director for Chanel who has created a collection inspired by female individuality, designed to encourage self-expression. Featuring palettes, liners and mascara with one next-level detail: dappled beauty dots drawn across the nose and cheeks - a beauty trick makeup artist Ailbhe Lynch swears by for its instant summer effect.

To create the look, Lynch used Chanel's Brow Powder Duo in Naturel with a fine-tipped brush on the bridge of the nose and outwards, then diffused them using the fingertip for a blurred, natural effect. Letting the dots take centre stage (asides from the attention-grabbing perfectly blended smokey eye) by keeping the base sun-kissed and effortless with a sheer lip to match.

The Base

Create a sun-kissed complexion by applying faux freckles over a radiant base.

"Scatter freckles using Chanel's Brow Powder Duo in Naturel with a fine-tipped brush for an imperfect finish. Lightly press with your fingertip so skin and freckles become one," says Lynch.

The Eye

The eyes are the real focus for this look. Opt for soft, romantic washes or step things up a little if you prefer a bolder result.

"Intensify colour using a flat brush or applicator to press shadow onto lids, then using a tapered brush, create strong lines and blocks of colour or diffuse edges for a blurry effect," Lynch advises.

The Lip

Prep lips with a balm for a smooth, hydrated base, then have fun!

"Play with double duty products, use blush on lips or lip products as blush. Press Les Beiges No24 Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick onto the lips for a delicate, summery stain. Complete the look by applying Baume Essential Sculpting to the lips and high points of the face for a light-reflective, pearly luminous glow." Lynch recommends.
