Essentially, it’s Glossier in a tube.
What do you remember about 2016? Perhaps it was Ireland at the Euros, the day David Bowie died or maybe you associate it with Brexit (yes, it's been that long). But for me, 2016 will always be the year my lip gloss game changed forever.
Glossier first dropped its lip gloss back in 2016, solidifying the fact that glossy lips are back and will forever be here to stay. Since then, the brand has rolled out Generation G (a sheer matte lipstick), Bubblewrap (an eye cream that also doubles as a lip treatment) and a dozen of other exciting products but sadly, no more gloss - until now.
After three long but nevertheless glossy years, there are now two new Glossier shades of Lip Gloss heading our way.
Adding some colour to the current clear option, the two new shades deliver high quality, long-lasting shine, without any stickiness or grittiness. The Red offers a universally flattering hint of colour while the Holographic ups on the glossy opalescent shimmer. They're both priced at €14 and are vegan, cruelty-free.
In addition to giving you a pout that even Love Island's Anna would approve of, Glossier's Lip Glosses also provide conditioning and moisturizing benefits as well. The glosses are made up vitamin E, which leaves lips feeling moisturized and soft, and jojoba oil, which helps the gloss to glide on smoothly and evenly. The glosses are also, paraben free and alcohol-free, so they won't dry your lips out.
In fact, they are so wearable that Michelle Obama wore Glossier Lip Gloss in Red to Essence Fest this weekend. “For her lips, I applied Make Up For Ever’s Artist Nude Creme Liquid Lipstick under Glossier’s new Lip Gloss in Red,” Obama’s longtime makeup artist, Carl Ray told Into the Gloss. “I like to apply cream liquid lipstick for longevity, and then add gloss on top for that shine and moisture.”
