Solid perfumes are one of the best ways to wear perfume on the go. Great for travel or for a tiny bag (no spillages – guaranteed!), we don’t know why we don’t use more of them.
Perhaps now we will, with the news that Jo Malone is about to launch a Solid Fragrance Combining Palette. The sleek, refillable container comes in a protective pouch and can house two solid perfumes.
The perfume formulation contains pure beeswax to add depth to the scent and, as for fragrances, ten of the brand’s best sellers are available:
Lime Basil & Mandarin
Basil & Neroli
English Pear & Freesia
Blackberry & Bay
Nectarine Blossom & Honey
Peony & Blush Suede
Mimosa & Cardamom
Wood Sage & Sea Salt
Oud & Bergamot
The brand is big on fragrance combining so you can layer scents on pulse points, the neck or even on the ends of hair, for a custom result. With prices starting at €16 for a solid scent, it’s a nice way to try out new fragrances without a big investment.
The new palette and refills go on sale from 1 February. The Fragrance Combining Palette is €27; a solid perfume cologne is €16, while a cologne intense will set you back €18.
