A Bottle Of This Dry Shampoo Is Sold Once Every Ten Seconds – Here's What All The Hype Is About

Grease is the word.

It makes sense, really.

To call the Irish Tatler team dry-shampoo aficionados would be a gross understatement—emphasis on the word “gross.” Without it, our hair would be just that, and we shudder to think of the dark ages before it was a staple on our shelf and we used talc as some form of grease absorbent.

And while we do love our dry shampoo dearly, we do have some qualms.

Traditional spray formulas just don’t seem to clean our strands as much as we’d like. (What can we say? We have high standards). And, they’re often packed with a plethora of not-so-nice ingredients that are probably best not sprinkled onto your scalp. But our biggest issue with our beloved dry shampoo is the fact that the giant spray can we’ve become so emotionally reliant on isn’t exactly environmentally-friendly.

And believe us, separation anxiety is the last thing we need to add on top of our crippling climate anxiety.  Thus, we took it upon ourselves to try the alternative: natural, organic, non-toxic dry shampoo. Most natural, organic, non-toxic dry shampoos come in powder form, but we have unearthed a genius option for spray aficionados.

Cue Klorane.

Designed to help decrease the frequency of washing hair, this offering from French pharmacy brand Klorane is formulated with plant-based active ingredients (Oat Milk or Nettle) and 3 gentle and natural powders with very high absorbency. It leaves hair fresh and clean without leaving it tangled or caked up with product.

Klorane uses a range of botanical extracts to benefit all hair types - Oat Milk for its gentleness and Nettle for purifying oily hair. Both are available in classic and tinted versions. The natural beige tint (non-colouring) is perfect for darker hair and doesn’t stain the scalp, hands or clothing.

Not only does the oat milk–infused dry shampoo deeply cleanse the scalp while lifting at the root for impressive volume – it does so without harsh chemicals.

Klorane’s brand ethos has always focused on a commitment to the environment while creating great botanical-based products that work, using sustainable farming methods. What's more, Klorane supports the work of Klorane Botanical Foundation, which is committed to preserving water and preventing the soil from drying out. The Foundation participates in reforestation programs, like the Great Green Wall in Africa where almost 80 000 trees have been replanted to push back the desert, and also initiatives to improve agricultural methods, notably in the Amazon region.
