When Adare Manor first opened, part of its many reasons for raising the bar in the Irish hotel landscape was that its spa (also Irish Tatler’s Spa of the Year 2019) was the first to bring the La Mer spa experience here.
It was a big deal, and rightly so, with tailored treatments using their luxury beauty products and creating signature experiences. But then Covid hit and La Mer made the decision to focus back on its brand and no longer operate in the spa arena (other than its own establishments) so Adare Manor was presented with the opportunity to seek a new skincare partner.
The search led to London’s 111SPA/CLINIC, and the first of its kind in Ireland. Developed by leading cosmetic surgeon’s Dr Yannis Alexandrides and brand maker Eva Alexandridis, 111SKIN was inspired by Alexandrides' search for products that could improve healing for things like post-op for facelifts and eye jobs. Using his twenty years of surgical knowledge, the first product created was the Dramatic Healing Serum. From there, NAC Y2 was born, a complex that includes a trio of actives with antioxidant capabilities, one of which stimulates the production of glutathione – one of the body’s more powerful intracellular antioxidants.

After launching in Harrods almost a decade ago, the brand then expanded into spas, while garnering plenty of fans in the process including Victoria Beckham, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Jennifer Anniston and Sienna Miller. Tailoring its spa experience to each chosen partner, the 111SPA/CLINIC treatment menu at Adare was made in collaboration with the hotel and 111SKIN and has been curated to include 111SPA/CLINIC’s variety of treatments from the brand’s 111FACIAL Aesthetics and 111BODY Aesthetics. One of the key treatments on the menu is The Rose Gold Renaissance which uses both Rose Quartz Crystals and precious gold sheets.
The Rose Gold Renaissance treatment
Using a three-level approach to facial massage, including the signature massage technique, wrinkle minimising wand massage and rose quartz stone massage, the treatment is designed to soothe irritation within inflamed skin. It starts with choosing a specific cleanser for your skin type, in my case 111SKIN Exfoactic Cleanser, which comes packed with AHA acids and papaya enzymes for clearing pores of congestion and getting rid of dead and dulling skin cells for a more balanced and bright complexion. Next, the Antioxidant Energising Essence is applied. A lightweight, water-like toner that enriches the skin and comes with the signature NAC Y2 and a blend of soothing botanical extracts with the aim of delivering fast-acting antioxidant properties, while prepping and priming the skin for better absorption of your 111SKIN routine.

Then comes the serum, of which there are four in the range, but as I have typical Celtic skin, my therapist opted for the redness-reducing Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y2, the first formulation Dr Yannis developed as part of 111SKIN. Aimed to significantly boost collagen production, support cell regeneration and improve the elasticity of the skin, it’s this little wonder that is
prescribed to patients post-procedure to help heal. This is followed by the vitamin, antioxidant, and Hyaluronic Acid-infused Y Theorem Day Cream to plump and revitalise the complexion.
The focus then moves to eyes and lips, and for my mid-40s skin, the very much-needed Celestial Black Diamond Contouring Gel, formulated with Matrixyl 3000 to boost collagen levels for plumper texture around the eyes and lips. The final cherry on the experience is the application of the signature Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask. Billed as the ultimate pre-event mask and originally created as a limited edition treatment, the hydrogel formula infuses the skin with radiance-boosting ingredients including 24k gold and damask rose (also available in booster liquid form), and while it does its magic, your therapist also treats you to a neck, shoulder and arm massage.
The verdict
The whole experience is precise, luxurious and feels really focused on efficacy, with the quality of 111SKIN’s products undeniable, leaving skin brighter, plumper and calmed. And while the price tag is high (€360 for a 150 min treatment) the spa itself is still without question one of the leading experiences out there, with 111SKIN a perfect marriage for such a special place.
