It's one of the quickest ways to brighten up a tired complexion, or add a bit of 'oomp' to your look. A bold lipstick in a vibrant pink or cherry red is a winner.

It's something everyone should have in their beauty arsenal - and success all comes down to picking a shade that best suits your complexion. And if you don't feel you've the attitude to brave a solid bold hue, opt for a lighter formulation that can give that brightness without a look-at-me effect.

Offering juicy pops of colour in beautiful packaging, Chanel’s new lipstick range lands with 27 shades. They’re kind to lips too, thanks to a hydraboost complex, with jojoba and sunflower oils to nourish.

Rouge Signature in I Represent, €13.99, L’Oreal Paris

L’Oreal Paris’ first lip ink, the non-drying formulation gives colour with a barely-there feel. It comes in 12 shades too - each with a great name!

BAREPRO Longwear Lipstick in Carnation, €24, Bare Minerals

This new range of lipsticks boasts a vegan friendly formulation with nourishing ingredents. The soft matte finish gives a hit of colour with staying power and we love the sleek bullet. 

Boom, Boom, Bloom Lipstick, €20, MAC

One of five pink and berry lip hues from the lipsticks pros at MAC. Each one is wrapped in very pretty limited edition sakura packaging, making it irresistible for spring.

Blooming Bold Lipsticks in Tiger Lily, €20, Origins (On counter 1 March)

A 24-strong collection of satin-finish lipsticks. Each one has elements of 12 flowers (from oils to petals) within and offers long-last hydration too.

Crushed Liquid Lip in Big Apple, €23.50, Bobbi Brown

A range of balm-liquid lipstick hybrids in colour coded packaging (which takes the guesswork out of things!). This cherry red will definitely brighten things up.
