Actress and British national treasure Emma Thompson accepted her Damehood at Buckingham Palace in what call be only called as a look with a capital L.
The 59-year-old attended the ceremony in a navy and black trouser suit by Stella McCartney, which she paired with white Stan Smith lace-up trainers. The vegan version, of course, which McCartney recently launched in collaboration with Adidas.
Now a "Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire", Thompson 'showed up' for all high-heel-hating-women everywhere. After all, this is the star who infamously walked onstage barefoot at the 2014 Golden Globes, throwing her shoes behind her after pointing to the distinctive Louboutin red sole and saying, "I just want you to know, this red? It’s my blood.”
Emma Thompson picking up her damehood: 1) wearing this incredible suit 2) asking Prince William if she can kiss him 3) also wearing box-fresh *trainers* 4) AND wearing an equal pay badge is an absolute MOOD pic.twitter.com/WqfVrhFvhw— Hannah Jane Parkinson (@ladyhaja) November 7, 2018
The Love Actually star also wore a "Equal Pay" pin produced by the Fawcett Society, a leading UK charity campaigning for gender equality and women's rights.
"I love Prince William. I've known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other," she told the Associated Press. "I said, 'I can't kiss you, can I?' And he said, 'No don't!'"
The mother-of-two said she plans to use her newfound title of Dame to focus attention on the plight of poor children who don't get adequate food during school holidays.
