The Crawley family finally have a film of their very own.
When ITV's much-loved series Downton Abbey ended back in 2015 complete with a Christmas Day send-off, it just wasn't enough for fans of the show but in keeping with the calendar, they'll get a very early Christmas present in September in the form of a Downton Abbey movie show in cinemas across Ireland.
The historical drama, which ran for five seasons, first began the day after the Titanic sank in 1912 before taking fans through the events of World War I, and bidding its final farewell in 1925. The film - now set in 1927 - will see Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville) receive a letter from the royal family, informing him of a looming visit from George V and Queen Mary.
The film's massive cast includes Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Matthew Goode, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Haig, Geraldine James, Robert, James-Collier, Simon Jones, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Stephen Campbell Moore, Lesley Nicol, Kate Phillips, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton and Penelope Wilton - to name but a few!
The Downton Abbey movie will be released in cinemas in Ireland on September 13. But in the meantime, you can check out the trailer below.
