Fancy Pants

Culottes were one of the reigning trends last summer and judging from the Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear 2017 collections, trousers in all shapes and sizes are back in a big way. For that, we rejoice, and not just because we didn't have time to tan! Look to trousers on winter evenings to keep you snug this party season. They offer an element of grown up chic to an ensemble and stand out amongst a sea of LBDs. Wear with a thin knit, crisp white shirt or go all out with the matching suit jacket for a 'Le Smoking' vibe, à la YSL.

Is there anything more elegant than a wide leg trouser or more glamorous than a pair of palazzo pants? The answer is a resounding no. They make us dream of swanning around the French Riveria with a baguette under one arm and a bottle of rosé under the other! Mix textures between seasons, silk in the summer and velvet or tweed in the colder months to ensure year round style.

Perhaps the most universally flattering and easiest to wear trouser. We’re loving cigarette pants with embellished hems- feathers like at Prada or the pompom versions at Zara for a more budget friendly option, or even the matching frill co-ord from & Other Stories. Wear with brogues or pointed ballet flats during the day for work and then pair with heels in the evening to dance the night away!
