What To Wear To Feel Fashion Week Ready...Even If You Aren't On The Guest List.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Just because you are not sitting frow this year does not mean you can’t dream, or still dress for the occasion.

The most crucial event in the fashion calendar kicks off today in New York City, keeping true to tradition.

Last night, I devoured copious Instagram stories of fashion bloggers sharing their excitement and preparation for the week ahead. I quite possibly overindulged in this activity and lost track of time due to the little twinkle in my eye and the (hopeful) idea that in the near future I might actually get to attend fashion week also - where’s my fairy godmother?

No doubt fashion month will bore a burst of creativity, incredible street style, glamour and inspiration alike which justifies the stress, rush, and battle scars picked up along the way. The shows attract a mass amount of fashion-focused attendees and an equally obsessed, well-connected global audience glued to their smartphones for regular updates (guilty)

In an attempt to feel closer to the heart of the action we have listed a few key season pieces for you to add to your Autumnal wardrobe and also keep an eye out as they will be making a cameo this month.

Who knows, with your newly adjusted fashion week ready wardrobe maybe we might see you sitting frow next year?

Got a thing for blazers 

Whoever decided to revitalize the blazer trend, we owe them a lot. The simple, tailored piece effortlessly structures and composes any outfit. Whether paired casually with jeans or a staple midi dress, this originally workwear piece always seems to work.

Although summer weather may not have officially left the fashion week destinations of New York, London, Milan, and Paris being over-prepared seems to be the theme of the month. Subbing a vintage blazer for a cold seems like the ideal fashion week mindset.

Bootcamp

Pack away your favourite summer mules because it is officially boots season, which automatically steps up your style game. Knee-high boots are making an unsubtle comeback promoting high-fashion styling, sexiness and encouraging a signature runway strut.

Knee highs are a statement piece which pushes styling them back to basics. Classic black jeans with a neutral-toned coat keeps the outfit fun without being OTT.

One And Done

The success of the summer dress can be greatly credited to its charm, flirty femininity and practicality. Luckily, dresses are transitional and a revamped range appears each season so dressing with ease is the new normal.

Dress, 79, & Other Stories

A dress means minimal effort and a sharp cancel on the thought, ‘I have nothing to wear’ (we have all been there). Easily matched with boots, runners, a leather jacket, a trenchcoat or simply layered with a knit, an autumnal dress allows for creativity. Or, if you are rushing you can simply put it on and run to fashion week...I mean work.
