This summer's balmy temperatures have been great and all, but I can't lie, a part of me – deep down – did light up when I felt the drops of rain that fell this week (not least for the premise of not having to book repeat pedicure appointments).
My Teva's have been trusty daytime steeds for the last few months, while Castaner espadrilles made the concept of heels in warm-weather bearable, but neither boasted the same wear-with-everything weight as my favourite ankle boots will come the new season.
