Jewellery is the perfect way to show aspects of your personality - and have fun with your look every day.
Lyndsey Cavanagh, the Dublin-based designer and founder of One Dame Lane is a trained goldsmith and jewellery maker. Inspired not only by her studies of jewellery and design but also by her spiritual practices in reiki and seichim, she creates unique pieces that vary from delicate chains to statement pendants. Each piece is made in-house and is available both online and in the beautiful One Dame Lane Dublin store.
Here, she outlines three key elements that are the perfect starting points for curating a great look. They pair well together but also make a subtle statement when worn solo, making it easier than ever to achieve the style you want.
"These are the pieces you will wear out over your chunky knits or sitting just inside those deep v necklines. Think larger pendants or stones worn on bolder chain styles and at longer lengths - the "anchor" to your layers.
Ones to try:
"The midi is a mid-size pendant, coin or colourful stone possibly worn on a beaded, diamond cut or rope chain to add a little texture. This will catch the light without the bling. A 45cm chain is the perfect mid-length and, at your request, we can always add an extender to your necklace if you'd like to drop it down a notch. The "midi" balances the shorter and longer styles you pair it with - anything too dainty will be lost at this length. It's your comfort zone but elevated."
"This is the piece that curves around the base of your neckline - think substantial but not overdone. Bold link chain styles will add some edge to your layers and a gilded nod to your wardrobe. Be daring in a Cuban link or demure in a paperclip chain but always "crown" your layers with a collar length (40cm+) piece — it's the one we're all crushing on right now."
