One item wonders.
Online shopping for me around this time of year is a pretty formulaic drill. Enters favourite high-street shop site. Clicks on 'New In' Tab. Filters 'New In' for 'Dresses'. More specifically, 'Midi Dresses'.
Every year, during this not-quite-yet-summer, May/June-ish time, I find dressing gets difficult. Boots look wrong, but sandals seem premature. Jeans feel heavy while bare legs mean, well, goosebumps. Layers are essential, but none that are too weighty.
And coming to my sartorial rescue these mornings (or for exciting trips the supermarket) is my collection of airy, easy-wear midi dresses. Long enough in length that they don't show pasty knees, but made from light and diaphanous fabric - they are a well-relied on fashion formula, even in quarantine.
So, in a declaration of love to my own collection of easy-wear summer dresses, I've made a completely shoppable edit of the best available on the internet currently. You'll notice some recurring themes – as ditsy florals, bold prints, statement sleeves, shirred detailing and waist-skimming styles appear on repeat.
Keep scrolling to see and shop the 14 throw-on and go dresses no summer wardrobe should be without.
