The Russian Fashion Council is offering 10 designers free participation on their schedule this season.

Moscow may not be the first city one thinks of when it comes to fashion, but with a continually growing fashion week and uptake in students studying a BA in Fashion at the British Higher School of Art & Design in Moscow, this is slowly changing.

Looking to grow further as an international city of design, the Russian Fashion Council and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia have announced a joint initiative – Global Talents – that offers 10 designers a free show on their next schedule as well as organisational and logistical support.

The show – which would be streamed worldwide – will be an opportunity for a young designer with at least two years experience of operating and at least three fully-produced collections, to show their collection to an international audience of press and buyers.

MBFW Russia runs between 30 March -- 3 April and applications are open until 1 March.

“Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia is always looking for new talents and has already launched a number of projects for young designers,” said President of Russian Fashion Council and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, Alexander Shumsky.

“For the first time, 10 selected emerging designers from different countries will be granted a show on the biggest fashion week in Russia and eastern Europe.”
