Fashion's Latest IT Item Is A Handbag For Your Water Bottle

Water bottles, but make it fashion.

What was once a reserved accessory for gym-goers and those who enjoy the great outdoors, water bottles have now received a high fashion makeover. With a newly found focus on all things sustainable and an eco-conscious mind, fashion designers have now begun creating their own water bottles.

Kicking off the fashionable water bottles craze was Louis Vuitton menswear designer, Virgil Abloh who collaborated with Evian on a collection of reusable water bottles that soon became a fashion must-have. The design featured a glass canister encased in white rubber with the words "Rainbow Inside" printed on the front - Abloh's trademark quotation marks included. Costing a casual €50, the bottle sold out, twice and currently has a waiting list of over 4,000 people should it be restocked. The bottle has since been spotted on eBay selling for twice the asking price.

But keeping that high-quality, aesthetically pleasing option for water bottles alive, Kurt Geiger has released a handbag/water bottle hybrid that gives you style and hydration - as well as eliminating the need for single-use plastic bottles.

Similar to the Evian X Virgin Abloh, the Kurt Geiger accessory is limited edition. Aptly named 'The Quench', the design resembles a plush evening bag in directionally quilted leather with their now trademark bird head but instead of fitting your phone, lipstick and purse; this bag is specifically shaped to securely fit a reusable water bottle.

The Quench in Black, €105, Kurt Geiger

Coming in two colours: black and the now Instagram favourite rainbow hue, the bag is priced at €105 with profits of the quirky accessory going to Water Aid - a charity dedicated to providing clean water in some of the world's poorest communities.
