Is the divisive sandal the new Dad Trainer?
While they have long remained a staple of beach vacations and post-pedicure strolls, flip flops have never really been high on our fashion radar.
That was until, like of bucket hats, cycling shorts and hair clips, the summer of 2019 rewound to the summer of 2009 in the unlikely style stakes, and suddenly we are seeing the sandal gracing the feet of stylists, influencers, models, and editors alike.
Not Birkenstocks or Tevas (which too have had their own fashion glow-up) - just the simple, thonged flip flop and this season, in particular, sees more approval than ever from brands and tastemakers within the weird and wonderful world of fashion.
