Is it just me or is it roasting?
June is coming to an end meaning a season flush with humidity and high temperatures is headed our way. It's the time of year where our summer wardrobes go into full swing: bold summer dresses, flowy skirts, a plethora of sandals and even denim short shorts seem appropriate most of the time.
But because it's Ireland, summer just wouldn't be summer without more than our fair share of rain. However, with such wet weather comes humidity. Instead of the cold, wet weather we're so well accustomed to, it's 18 degrees and the humidity is hitting us harder than when Monica went to Barbados in Friends.
Frizzy hair aside, how is one to manage the sweaty commute and still feel 'summer' enough that when the heavens do open (because they will), we can be appropriately dressed?
The answer lies in midaxi length dresses. The midaxi length makes you feel as though you can wear this dress anywhere: a board meeting, an interview, coffee with a client, dinner with friends. And it also helps shelter you from the inevitable cold that being attacked with rain will bring.
Complete the look with a trusty lightweight linen blazer and trainers because there is nothing worse than soggy sandals.
