Stave off the January blues with these wardrobe hacks.
Post-Christmas, back to work, new year blues, pre-gym fear – whatever way you want to label your disdain for it being the first week in January, chances are your wardrobe is experiencing a similar feeling of remiss. The good news is that we hear you, and we're here to help with some snappy shortcuts that will inject some much-needed zest into your get-dressed regimen. The bad news is that January is still going to happen. (But, hey, at least you'll look cute.)
Pepper Some Plaid
Hit refresh on your dressing greatest hits with a rush of check. The good news is that the print is plentiful in the winter sales RN and, stylist's tip, if snapping up a square-root staple try to choose lighter, brighter colours that you can wear right into spring.
Go Solo With A Cardigan
So you've been layering it with your fave band tee/turtleneck all winter? Enough. Now is the humble cardigan's true time to shine, so pop on a statement necklace and tuck yours into your waistband with a classic leather belt.

Rock A Winter Pastel
Fizzy, saccharine hues are a big mood for spring-summer 20: think outside of the obvious mauves and pinks and experiment with an element of mint, pistachio or lime in your outfit.
Rethink The Leather Jacket
Think: less biker, more utilitarian and you'll catch our drift. This medium weight layer doesn't give as much warmth as say, a faux fur, but it will add a new dimension to your glitter and gleam pre-Christmas clothes.
Choose Eccentric Hosiery
Give your favourite party dress or midi-skirt an update with patterned tights. (A word to the wise: stick with muted tones and play in the safe zone.) Bonus points for being both chic and toasty!
Break Out The White Denim
Nothing casts your mind to milder climes like a bleached out jean. For now, combine with a fluffy mohair jumper, and layer a teddy coat on top. Or, as pictured by Monica de La Villardière, a Breton stripe will suffice for when you want to blast the central heating and pretend it's springtime.
