It's the most hotly-anticipated Meghan Markle related question since who will design her wedding dress for her ceremony with Prince Harry. As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touch down in Dublin today, we are hedging our bets as to which Irish designer will dress Meghan Markle.

Already a firm favourite of Kate Middleton, Orla Kiely would be a perfectly appropriate choice for Meghan's visit to Ireland. The sixties charm of the label marries perfectly with Meghan's Jackie-O vibe that she's been rocking post-nuptials.

One of the most lauded designers to come from our shores, Simone Rocha is oft claimed as a British designer, however Dublin-born Simone is the son of iconic Irish designer, John Rocha. Loved by the likes of Alexa Chung, Saoirse Ronan and Diane Kruger, Rocha is contemporary fashion's young, romantic dream and a calling card for those craving an edgy, London look. A Big Bird-inspired furry heel? Perhaps, a tad too out there. But we reckon Meghan would rock a diaphanous number from Rocha's latest collection like a true style insider.

The Old Reliable
In high regard for dressing women of stature, Louise Kennedy's classic pieces are woven into the history of Irish fashion design. Kennedy recently dressed Christine Lagarde, below, for her recent visit to Trinity College, so a royal appointment certainly wouldn't be out of the question.
The Elegant Route
Loved by Irish stars such as Kathryn Thomas and Amanda Byram, Turkish-born Umit Kutluk has become a fave on the celebrity circuit since moving to Dublin in 2007. For spring, Kutluk debuted striking appliquéd florals and sheer fabrics (hello, garden party at the British's ambassadors), making the label a go-to for elegant occasion wear. Plus, the designer certainly knows how to rock a good two-piece should the Duchess feel so inclined.

The Green Dream
Wexford-born LCF graduation Richard Malone has made waves since his graduate collection – both for his striking clothes and outspoken opinions. The designer's collections are both directional and eco-friendly, with Malone using offcuts from luxury fashion houses to create his collection. Another cause close to Malone's heart was the campaign to Repeal the Eighth, something he outlined in an open letter to the people of Ireland that was published by British Vogue.

The Accessory King
Already a firm favourite of the royal family, Philip Treacy created the headwear of choice for Camilla Parker Bowles at the royal nuptials in May and also for Meghan's recent jaunt to Ascot, below. Perhaps, a green-themed hat may be in order?
