The best of what's new on the high street.

Back to school doesn't just apply to teen dreams and college goers – it's a new leaf for your wardrobe that, quite frankly, couldn't be more satisfying: the sartorial equivalent of a just purchased pencil case or a box-fresh schoolbag for the new term. And there's no better place to scout out the new season scenario than the high street, which is brimming with autumnal delights. We say: roll on actual autumn weather because we can't wait to step out in these more-trend-less-spend buys.

Buttoned wool jacket, €79.99, Mango

A cropped jacket is perfect territory for this in-between weather. Namely, because the wool blend is casual but will keep you warm when the autumn chill sets in. Plus, how 'bout that colour?

Shiny snakeskin skirt, €49.95, Zara

We are fully on board with Zara's new season commandments. One of which is that a seventies bomber and corduroy flares are de rigueur autumn apparel. The other being that one should sport a reptile print at every opportunity. Here, here.

Faux leather dress, €77, Warehouse

Part of It girl Lucy Williams' curation of Warehouse AW18, our heads tell us we can't pull off this dress. Oh, but the heart...

Varsity stripe sweater, €89, & Other Stories

Doing shots? We'll take an electric jolt of cosy tan knitwear to shock our wardrobe into full-blown autumn mode. Bonus points for the chevron stripe.

Corduroy flare, €40, Topshop

Topshop gets on the corduroy bandwagon. And we love the accessible price point of these navy kick flares.

In case that didn't kickstart a spending jolt, we'll finish on a high – with an inspo pick of Lucy Williams rocking autumn's reptile trend like no other. Kudos.
