Possibly even more flattering than all those polka dots.
Forget about that polka dot Zara dress - there’s a new cult frock in town.
It doesn’t have its own Instagram account (yet), but I’ve spotted it countless times on Instagram, saw two women sporting it on their morning commute and there was a limited few hanging on the rail when I checked in Zara earlier today.
It's crisp, white and made from lightweight cotton and is a sartorial juxtaposition. It is both girlish and Scandi, maximalist yet minimalist, simultaneously subtle but statement-making.
It’s a more of an editorial choice than the polka dot number, which every second person on Instagram and the street seems to own.
This voluminous silhouette is arguably the fashion industry’s must-wear shape of the summer: pouffy feminine dresses are found everywhere from Ganni to Bahnsen. But thanks to the €39.95 price tag, this Zara cotton version means we can tap into the trend.
You can throw this midi dress on during hot and sticky days in the city, as the lightweight cotton will reflect the heat and the flowing silhouette will keep you cool. For those prone to spillages, the great news is, there’s a version of it that comes in black and blue.
It is sadly sold out in practically all sizes online, however, I recommend you use the store checker tool as you might have more luck in store.
Wear it with neon mules, ugly sandals or Spinelli-inspired army boots for an uber-chic laid back look.
Asymmetric Poppin Dress, €39.95, Zara
Put your name on the waiting list while you can - the minute this one restocks, it’s guaranteed to fly out. But you’ll have to get behind all of us in the Irish Tatler office, of course.
