Everything That Went Down At Rihanna’s Raucous SS20 Savage x Fenty Show

Before the whole event debuts on Amazon Prime later this month, here’s everything you need to know about RiRi’s second-ever Savage extravaganza.

Last night, entrepreneur, artist and icon Robyn Rihanna Fenty closed New York Fashion Week with her latest Savage x Fenty show.

And, true to form, it broke all the rules.

Set to be recorded as part of a forthcoming Amazon special the event was deemed one of the most anticipated events on this season’s NYFW schedule.

Phones were banned at the Brooklyn Barclays Center event – where the likes of 21 Savage, Alek Wek, Aquaria, Ashley Graham, Diplo, Lil Kim, Paris Hilton, and Dasha Polanco, Normani, Paloma Elsesser, and Joan Smalls mingled – while Migos, Big Sean, Fat Joe, Fabolous, Tierra Whack, A$AP Ferg, and Halsey and other secret guests performed.

According to Dazed, models ranged from the Hadid sisters to Slick Woods to Paloma Elsesser who celebrated overt femme sexuality in 1920s flapper girl-adjacent garb while Sean Paul sang them out.

Paris Hilton told the New York Post: “It was so sexy, so Rihanna and I’m so proud of her and the boss babe that she is.”

The world’s richest female musician (according to Forbes) is aiming high with her body-positive, inclusive lingerie line, picking up exactly where The infamously exclusive Victoria's Secret show left off.

And, as it happens, diversity pays, as Savage x Fenty has just landed $50 million in new funding from investors while Ed Razek's once-lauded cash cow has cancelled its runway show after sagging sales, scandal and declining viewership

The line is available for purchase on Amazon now, and Amazon Prime Video will be streaming the show September 20 for the masses.
