When Rixo Goes French...

The only thing cooler than Rixo, A French Gal x Rixo collaboration

Describe what would happen if....

A nineties Cher Horowitz and a seventies Jane Birkin had a love child, and you begin to scratch the surface of the latest collaboration to come from quintessential Instagram label, Rixo.

To give you a better idea, brand founders Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey describe the Rixo X Sabina Socol collection as “romantic French château meets whimsical English countryside”.

So, who is Sabina Socol?

Sabina is only one of France’s biggest influencers right now, racking up an impressive 258K strong following.

(Fun fact: Socol is in fact a Romanian native who moved to Paris just short of ten years ago to kickstart her career in fashion.)

A shared love of vintage and a similar slew of inspirations later, and brand Rixo found a kindred spirit in the girl best described as ‘a Bardot for the Instagram age’.

Like so much of fashion right now, the nineties vibe in the collection is strong. Socol cites Clueless as candid inspiration but the nostalgia doesn’t end there:

“Let’s not forget about Carrie Bradshaw. I also love Ally McBeal and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.”

However, Rix and McCloskey aren’t ones to forget the original It girls of the decade either.

“We grew up in the nineties and were both obviously obsessed with the Spice Girls. Emma, Melanie C and Geri have all worn Rixo so far – a dream come true for our younger selves!”

Choosing a favourite piece is, inevitably, like choosing a favourite child. However, there are a few true blue classics, including a mega summer-y jumpsuit, which Socol wears as we speak.

“It’s so flowy and easy to pair with a little cardigan, and a pair of mules during early spring days. But...if I’m being completely honest, my major crush is on the fluffy bag. No explanation needed, I think!”
