A brand new sustainable fashion flea market has made its home in Dublin city centre.
The aptly-named Sustainable Fashion Dublin Flea Market is a monthly celebration of sustainable fashion in its entirety – complete with DJ sets, workshops, panel talks, screenings and cocktails.
Every month sees the entire first floor of The Workman's Club filled with stall traders showcasing rails of vintage and secondhand pieces, individuals selling their own preloved gems and local artisan and sustainable vendors.
However, during the time that's in it, the two stalwarts at the helm have taken things online.
Ireland’s finest sustainable fashion purveyors, Taz Kelleher and Geraldine Carton, have become Ireland's go-to women for all things eco-friendly, and are responsible for the whole endeavour.
This coincides with what several industry analysts predicted would happen in tandem with the “Kondo Effect" – that fast fashion would eventually slow down.
The next Sustainable Fashion Dublin Flea Market Workshop – to be experienced wholly on Instagram – is viewable on their stories here.
"Right now on our stories, you’ll find everything from vintage and preloved fashion gems, to pet embroidery, homemade jewellery, sustainable living products, saucy scarves, body-positive prints and more," they wrote.
"And at a time when so many small businesses are really suffering, supporting things like virtual flea markets and shopping locally is a great way to have a positive impact on those who could really do with the support!"
We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Check out their profile and all the independent retailers you can purchase from here.
