BONNIE RYAN

Bonnie is this year's guest host for Thrive Festival

My go-to brands for fitness gear are...

"An Irish brand called New Dimension but I also love lululemon."

I'd describe my signature fitness style as...

"Simple! Anything that gets you moving, from weights, cardio to spinning classes."

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for...

"Comfort. For me it's all the same, it needs to be comfortable, once I can move and I'm not having to pull things down or pull them up I'm happy!"

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I...

"Don't. Unless it's Sunday and I throw on my gym leggings for comfort."

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is...

My black new dimension leggings and I have a Primark tank top that I love it's so comfy and so adorable.

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is...

"When they aren't squat proof!! Surely this should be the number one thing a brand checks with the material...don't put us through the embarrassment!"

My fitness style crush is...

"I love Hailey Beiber’s fitness style it's always sleek and simple"

NIAMH CULLEN

Niamh is part of a women’s health panel on Saturday at 1 pm on the ‘Kellogg’s Happy Guts Talk Stage’ with Nathalie Lennon, Jess Redden, Dr Doireann O’Leary & Hayley Madigan

My go-to brands for fitness gear are...

"I have different brands that I wear for different types of training. For example, Nike, it’s great for strength and conditioning (read: squat proof), Under Armor is great for running and lululemon is my go-to for yoga and Pilates."

I'd describe my signature fitness style as...

"Athletic but make it fashion! I love the 80s gym era. If could wear aerobic style gym gear all the time I would. My friends often joke and call me Jane Fonda. I have a couple of vintage gym pieces that I love"

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for...

"Footwear. It's so important to wear the correct footwear when training, I have 2/3 types of trainers that I got between. Nike Metcon 5 brilliant for weights. Nike Zooms, ASICS gel boosts are great for longer runs. Under Armour HOVR Machina are also great for gym and running. I am the ambassador for lifestyle sports this year so I have trailing out different fitness clothes and shoes."

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I...

"Don't, it's one of my pet peeves. I love my clothes too much."

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is...

"My Nike sports bra...or my Lulu Lemon leggings."

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is...

"When gym clothes don't have a quick wick fabric to keep dryer for longer when training. Also see-through leggings. Nobody likes to see what colour underwear they picked for the day."

My fitness style crush is...

"Hailey Baldwin, she wears a very 80s fitness style."

Finn Ni Fhaolin

Finn will be at the Thrive cookery stage at 2.30 pm on Sunday

My go-to brands for fitness gear are...

"Because I enjoy quite a few physical activities - surfing, running, yoga etc I've yet to find one brand that suits everything so I'd say my work out gear is quite a mixed bag!"

I'd describe my signature fitness style as...

Sustainable. All my fitness gear is pieces I've owned for many years, whether it's items I got second hand, at a clothes swap or from my favourite sustainable brands. Since most workout gear is typically made with synthetic material (aka plastic), it can be handy to wash them in something like a Guppy Friendly Wash Bag which stops the microfibre getting into our oceans."

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for...

Sustainability. I want to know I'm not having a negative impact on the planet while doing the activities I love! Since its different for different sports, I'll address them separately. For surfing, you really get what you pay for, I prefer to invest in a good wetsuit that will last for years, that’s super-warm and super flexible. Companies have come on leaps and bounds with neoprene (what wetsuits are made of) now, so you can get ones made with natural rubber or even limestone neoprene! For running the items have to not rub and for yoga, it needs to be thick supportive leggings that aren't going to be see-through. I've picked the pieces I have so they can go from a yoga class to a track and even straight into the water."

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I...

"I'm guilty. I definitely have a tendency to wear yoga pants when I'm having a busy day running errands or they can be so handy if you're doing long haul travel on a train or plane."

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is...

"Easily my bikini! I wear it under gym gear, for swimming, for surfing in warmer weather and under my wetsuit in Irish water. Also, I have a little trail running backpack that I got in California last year that I absolutely love and it's really handy for bringing snacks, water and extra layers for a day in the snow too."

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is...

"Poor quality items that date quickly. I know that style evolves naturally, but the constant mini-seasons of fast fashion can mean the item you bought last month is already out of date."

My fitness style crush is...

I love surfer and environmentalist, Sophie Hellyer's style. She wears a great mix of sustainable brands, bikinis made of recycled plastics and more sustainably made wetsuits. I have major envy of her swimsuit collection!"

HOLLY WHITE

Holly will be at the Thrive cookery stage at 11.30 am on Saturday & Sunday

My go-to brands for fitness gear are…

“I look for recycled and long-wearing fabrics. Primark recently collaborated on a collection made with recycled polyester which I love and also there's a range called Organic Basics I've purchased from also. I also have some Lulu Lemon gear.”

I'd describe my signature fitness style as…

“Classic. Clean lines, no visible logos, comfort and classic timeless design are all essential.”

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for…

“Fit! I want pieces that fit well, wear well and look well.”

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I…

“Sometimes do. I don't deliberately wake up and put on my leggings unless I'm going to be exercising but oftentimes after a class, I'm rushing about still in my gear. In winter I always throw on a heavy parka on top.”

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is…

“I have a great parka from Didriksons from the sustainable edit on Zalando that I live in. It's super cosy, has lots of pockets for my keys and wallet so I don't need to bring a bag with me and a hood for the inevitable Irish showers.”

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is…

“Poorly made clothes. I hate poorly made pieces that don't fit well and will inevitably end up in a landfill very quickly.”

My fitness style crush is…

“Millie Mackintosh, I love her style.”

GLENDA GILSON

Glenda Gilson is this year's guest host for Thrive Festival

My go-to brands for fitness gear are…

“I love Trendy and Bendy, and Lululemon.”

I'd describe my signature fitness style as…

“Tight. I always go for long length leggings, a sports bra, t-shirt or tank and hoodie or zip up.”

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for…

“Comfort. There's nothing worse than a sports bra that's digging into your spine or leggings that are stopping you from breathing properly. I always think if you feel unsure about it when you're in the dressing room, well then you'll feel a hundred times worse when you wear it out in public. Make sure you're happy before buying as gym gear isn’t cheap.”

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I…

“Sometimes do. I might wear my leggings and hoodie on a day off but it really depends on what I'm doing that day.”

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is…

“My lululemon khaki long length leggings, I love them! They're high wasted, really long length and made from soft cotton-like material.”

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is…

“Leggings that are see-through! You just can't wear high street leggings in the gym...not unless you want people to see your underwear.”

My fitness style crush is…

“Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She always gets it right and loves to wear black.”

Rosalind Lipsett

Rosalind is hosting the Trendy and Bendy Fit Fashion Workshop on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm.

My go-to brands for fitness gear are...

"I rotate between Lululemon for comfort and durability, Trendy and Bendy have the softest and stretchiest leggings, Peachy Lean for their comfortable and colourful sets. Gym Plus Coffee and Gym Goddess are other fantastic Irish brands I frequently wear."

I'd describe my signature fitness style as...

"Functional. A supportive sports bra underneath a breathable T-shirt and squat proof leggings. I usually resort to black but I feel I work out better when I add a pop of colour to my fitness gear."

When I'm buying new fitness gear, I always look for...

"Squat-proof stretchy leggings. I also like darker and more breathable T-Shirts and tops so there are no visible sweat marks. I also do a lot of running so workout clothes that are flexible are key. I also find that high waisted leggings are more flattering and comfortable."

When it comes to wearing fitness gear outside the gym, I...

"Love it. I wear athleisure wear whenever I'm not working or when I'm out playing football or in the park with my two-year-old son, Theo. As you can imagine I get dirty easily with sticky hands, so I find gym gear to be the most comfortable and very washable. Adding a white oversized shirt or a big woolly jumper with a denim jacket, a pair of sunglasses and boots or wedge runners can really add style to your workout clothes."

My most loved/worn piece of gym gear is...

"That’s a tie between my Trendy and Bendy leggings or my Lululemon high wasted yoga pants."

My pet hate when it comes to fitness clothes is...

"Clothes that are too revealing at the gym. I want to feel comfortable and supported when I’m working out."

My fitness style crush is...

"Vogue Williams. I think Vogue Williams has fabulous fitness style. I like all her colourful leggings."
