New Burberry, new Gigi(s)
Last August, Burberry got a complete makeover when the brand's new chief creative officer, Riccardo Tisci revealed the new logo and monogram print. In a nod to Burberry's founder, Thomas Burberry, the red, honey-beige, and white colour design was inspired by a 1908 monogram for Thomas Burberry that Tisci discovered while on a visit to the Burberry archives. Alongside a new image, the TB monogram print is making history as it marks the first time the luxury house has changed its look in over 20 years.
Today, Burberry launched the entire TB Monogram campaign which stars Gigi Hadid. Shot by Nick Knight, the 24-year-old supermodel appears solo in the campaign, though you’d probably do a double take looking at the group shots – realising they’re all Gigi. The campaign features characters created by Tisci that make up the Burberry family: the lady, gentleman, boy and girl - all of which are played by Gigi.
Gigi as "the lady".
Gigi as "the gentleman".
Gigi as "the girl".
Gigi as "the boy".
Though the print was originally debuted in a print of tan and orange, the TB monogram print is now cast in a neutral palette of chocolate brown, beige, with red stripes laid on top of the print.
Burberry's new TB Monogram collection will be available for purchase at select Burberry stores globally and online on May 22.
