As co-chair, it's a given that Harry is going to need to bring some camp to the carpet.
Harry Styles – former One Directioner and bonafide sartorial icon – will attend, co-host and help to plan his first-ever Met Gala on May 6.
Never one to do things by halves, 25-year-old Harry will act as the enormous event's co-chair, with awards season's lady-of-the-moment, Lady Gaga.
Gaga and Styles will act as ambassadors for the event alongside Gucci's Alessandro Michele, Serena Williams and Anna Wintour who will celebrate the opening of Camp: Notes On Fashion, the latest exhibit to be staged at the landmark NYC museum.
A dedicated follower of fashion, it's a sure thing that Styles will bring his quintessential flair to the carpet – but what should we expect from him as co-host?
In the past, Met Gala hosts have taken to the stage during the exclusive dinner.
With Harry and Gaga both billed, a jazzy duet is not off the cards. And if both are truly keen to stick to the theme – knowing Gaga, then definitely – the duet/performance will be exquisitely camp, something we think everyone can look forward to.
The role of a co-chair also expands into the guest list, the food, the decor and the general feel of the evening.
So, yes. Harry's own personal touch will be felt throughout the entire evening. While most likely in a pastel Gucci suit.
While the Met Gala is often referred to as the Oscars of fashion, sadly that's where the comparisons end as the benefit is not televised so you'll have to keep an eye on irishtatler.com and our Instagram account for all the looks from the Met Gala 2019.
