Everything You Know About Photography Has Changed, Thanks To Huawei

Like, everything.

While mobile photography has improved vastly since our flip camera phone days, the demand for smartphones to have cameras not dissimilar to that of a DSLR is ever-growing. In recent years, technology has begun to suggest that, in time, modern smartphones will have camera technology of such quality that you will no longer want, or need any other camera.

The constant pressure to live a 'picture perfect' life online can be credited for our need for such high-quality images on the go. Gone are the days where blurry, highly pixilated images in a toaster-esque filter are accepted as smartphone cameras are simply too advanced for such low quality.

That said, the challenge to capture an image in poor lighting or from too far a distance are challenges that we and technology are yet to conquer...or so we thought. Last week, Huawei announced the launch of the new P30 Pro Smartphone and thanks to its four rear-facing cameras, it is about to change everything you once knew about photography.

The Huawei P30 Pro takes low-light photography to an entirely new level meaning your friend's torch can finally take a well-deserved rest from lighting up your OOTD posts. The new f/1.6 wide aperture sensor now delivers an ISO four times that of professional cameras. Even in the darkest of light, Huawei promises that handheld shots are captured in detail. The results alone show that their promise isn't one to fall short. The phone allows you to light up pitch-black scenes, far beyond your eye's capability, in one single shot - no exposure or flash needed.

Besides being the new champion for low-light photography, the Huawei P30 Pro also offers greater optical zoom, reverse wireless charging and an all-screen design with a minuscule notch. As for each of the reverse-four cameras, the configuration consists of the now Huawei standard 40MP camera, a 20MP ultra-wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera and the new Huawei Time-of-Flight camera. The front camera also packs a whopping 32MP.

Given the glowing reviews online and our experience, there’s little doubt that Huawei is pushing the boundaries of what a camera phone can do.

The P30 Pro is available from €79 on bill pay and is €999 sim free. The P30 is available from free on bill pay and costs €739 sim free. Both phones are available from Vodafone, Three, Eir, Carphone Warehouse, Virgin and Harvey Norman.
