Amber Jean Rowan, Dublin-born model and actress creates a safe space for those dealing with Alopecia, to get advice about hair-loss and become a part of an empowered and special community.
Hair loss, for both women and men, can weight heavy on self-esteem, so seeing someone in the spotlight open up about their alopecia experience, can prove reassuring, especially when they’re in an industry that revolves around beauty ideals.
At just 16, Amber first graced our screens, appearing in RTE’s The Model Agent, a reality-style show which sought to find Ireland’s next top supermodel. Throughout the show, Amber spoke openly on the show about the particular hair loss condition she was suffering with; alopecia areata. “This has been my private battle, but I wanted to talk about it,” she said on the show.
This week, Amber took to Instagram to launch her new @Hairfreelife account, posting striking images of herself – taken by photographer Lee Malone – with her freckles on show and not wearing her wig,
