Art deco interior, affordable options, and world-class ratings? The Ivy on Dawson Street is going to be the newest establishment on every Dubliner’s lips.
In the last few years, Dawson Street has gained a reputation for having some of the best bars and restaurants in the city, so it’s no surprise that The Ivy Collection has chosen the Dublin 2 hotspot as the location for setting up its first Irish brassiere.
Reservations are now live for @theivydublin which opens on Tuesday 24th July, and they did quite the photocall with a big ivy covered bus to announce the news. Menus are now online too with extensive breakfast, brunch and all-day options, including the infamous lamb shepherd’s pie (this time with @dublinercheese). You can book via their website...
The Ivy in the heart of London's Chelsea neighbourhood is a favourite among stars and socialites alike, with an almost iconic status at this stage. The plush restaurant is a London landmark for those who enjoy fine food, wine, and dining. Besides the food, each branch is known for its distinctive and lavish aesthetic, which has many punters speculating about which guise The Ivy, Dublin will take. The interior designer is critically acclaimed Martin Brudnizki who has worked across the whole Ivy Collection so we can expect plenty of that famous sprezzatura that makes the restaurant chain so famed. Brudnizki is also the brains behind the rebooted private club Annabel's of London (if you're not familiar, google the millennial pink marble in the bathrooms immediately).
According the the restaurant's press release: "Notable features in the restaurant will include floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a striking central onyx bar, beautiful pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet panel flooring and leather banquettes – all creating a stylish, yet laid-back environment for all-day dining."
With nearly thirty restaurants in England, the Dublin branch will be the first outside the UK. It was recently announced that The Ivy will be opening its doors on 24 July and reservations are already booking up fast. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner will all be on offer; whether it's for a low-key dinner or going-out-out night on the town.
