Want to eat out without breaking the bank?
With an abundance of restaurants in Dublin right now, it's tough to decide where to eat without breaking the bank.
Thankfully, there are some amazing early bird menus available at restaurants around the city that won't make your eyes water when you see the prices.
Here are some of our top picks to help you dine out on a budget.
1. Clanbrassil House, Dublin 8
Grainne O'Keefe, the winner of the best chef under 30 award at the 2019 FOOD AND WINE Awards, is the head chef at Clanbrassil House and she is known for serving up some seriously tasty food.
The early bird set menu at Clanbrassil House is available Monday to Friday between 5pm-6pm.
With a range of great Irish produce on the menu, we think that €28 for three courses is an absolute steal. Click here for more info.
2. One Pico, Dublin 2
One Pico is one of our favourite restaurants in the city. With Ciaran McGill at the helm, this spot offers up imaginative and flavourful dishes on all of its menus.
Priced at €35 for two courses or €39.50 for three, this early bird leans slightly towards the pricier end of the scale, but the quality of food makes the cost well worth it. Click here for more info.
3. Volpe Nera, Blackrock
Newly-opened Volpe Nera is the brainchild of Barry Sun, formerly of Etto.
This restaurant's food has been impressing visitors since it opened and the early bird menu is jam-packed with similarly delicious dishes. Expect to try sea bream crudo, pasta and much more for only €27 for two courses or €30 for three.
Available on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm until 6.15pm. Get more info here.
4. Etto, Dublin 2
The menu at Etto is constantly changing so you never know what you might get, but you're guaranteed that it will be tasty.
It costs €28 for two courses, but we recommend that you opt for three courses (€32) so that you can enjoy the tasty red wine prunes for dessert – we'd almost pay this price for the prunes alone! Click here for more info.
5. Glas, Dublin 2
Not strictly an early bird but the set menu at vegan/vegetarian restaurant Glas offers tasty food at a great price.
It’s available from 12pm-4pm and 5pm-6.30pm. Two courses are €19 and you’ll get three for €24. Click here to make a booking.
6. Pickle, Dublin 2
Known for stellar flavours and packed tables, Pickle on Camden Street is one of Dublin's gems. The value menu here includes two courses and costs just €28 per person.
Featuring some of our favourites like the masala ribs, guinea fowl and pav bhaji, Pickle offers something for everyone.
The value menu is available from 5pm-6pm Tuesday to Friday and 3pm-5pm on Sunday. Click here for more info.
7. Chapter One, Dublin 1
The pre-theatre menu at Chapter One isn't exactly cheap, but it's certainly a reasonable way to enjoy Michelin-starred food while you're on some sort of budget.
For €45 per person, you can enjoy three courses at the northside gem and get a taste of this classic restaurant's gorgeous offerings. Click here for more info.
