Her new book isn’t out until November but already Irish author Cecelia has announced big news.
The upcoming ROAR is a series of short stories focused on women and, as with most of Cecelia’s work, the buzz ahead of its publication is immense. She’s one of Ireland’s most successful authors, with over 25 million books sold. Her previous novels have been translated into myriad languages around the world. It’s probably a given that ROAR will be a sell-out but it won’t stop there.
Cecelia has just announced that her Greenlight Go production company has teamed up with a number of partners, including Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films, to turn ROAR into a TV series.
Executive producers and show frontrunners, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, are co-creaters of the hugely successful Netflix series Glow and also wrote for Orange is the New Black and Weed.
Blossom Films is perhaps best known for the hit show Big Little Lies, and Nicole has a growing reputation for promoting and creating interesting content. The company also signed a deal with Amazon earlier this year, making this partnership a significant move for Cecelia.
It won’t be the first time she has seen her work translated for the screen however. Her novels PS…I Love You and Where Rainbows End (renamed Love Rosie) were adapted into films. She was also behind the successful TV series, Samantha, Who?
