How To Make The Perfect Margarita, Given It's National Margarita Day

Who doesn't love a margarita?

Margs, margaritas... whatever you call them, we love them! They are perfectly refreshing and so easy to make.

The below recipe is super quick and easy to whip together, so you'll be chilling with a drink in your hand in no time.

If you don't fancy making your own margaritas, there are some seriously good spots for margaritas all over the country. In Dublin, we particularly like Xico's, 777 and the latest bar to open in Dublin, The Well, on St Stephen's Green. We've tried and tested, so you can believe us.

If you want to master the classic margarita, check out our simple recipe below.

  • 1 lime
  • Salt, to garnish
  • 50ml tequila
  • 20ml Triple Sec
  • A slice of lime, to serve

  1. Cut the lime in half and run over the rim of a margarita glass. Dip the glass into salt to coat the rim.
  2. Juice the lime and add to a cocktail shaker with the tequila, Triple Sec and some ice. Shake the mixture, then strain into the martini glass.
  3. Serve with a slice of lime.
