"To any little girl who is practising their speech – you never know."
Everyone's favourite Olivia Coleman looked visibly stunned and in disbelief at her "hilarious" Oscar win for Best Actress in an emotional speech on Sunday night.
Coleman, who was applauded every step of the way by colleague Emma Stone, described the experience of having to give a speech to the packed Dolby Theatre as "stressful".
Joking that she would "snog" anyone who she failed to thank in her acceptance speech, she praised her co-stars Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone, as she said that it "wasn't a hardship" to have the pair fall in love with her on screen.
She went on to thank her children "who are at home and watching," and told Oscar-goers that she used to dream of receiving an Academy Award while working as a cleaner.
"Any little girl who's practising their speech on the telly, you never know," she said.
"I used to work as a cleaner and I loved that job but I did spend quite a lot of time imagining."
The 45-year-old then appeared to be asked to "wrap up" her winner's remarks and responded to the request by blowing a raspberry.
Colman beat Lady Gaga, Melissa McCarthy, Yalitza Aparicio and favourite Glenn Close to the Best Actress trophy.
She paid tribute to the "extraordinary women" in her category, paying special attention to Close.
