Kate Grant: The Irish Model On A Mission To Show That Different Is Beautiful

Rising catwalk star Kate Grant is blazing a trail for young people with Down syndrome.

Proof that you should never, ever give up. 

Kate Grant, a 20-year-old model with Down's syndrome from Northern Ireland, is sharing her journey to inspire other women with disabilities to pursue their dreams.

From her first gig as a model for Belfast Fashion Week, Grant has pursued her career with astounding drive; becoming the first female with Down's syndrome to win an international beauty pageant (Teen Ultimate Beauty of the World); landing a beauty campaign with Benefit Cosmetics; blogging in Abu Dhabi at the Special Olympics and speaking at the UN in Geneva on World Down's Syndrome Day. Does she feel like a role model? “I’m just Kate,” she says.

For 2020, she’s looking forward to doing what she loves most – modelling and promoting inclusion for people with disability. "I want to be on the cover of Vogue,” Grant says, adding, “I want all the designers to call me – I am 100 per cent ready.”
