A €12.99 Prosecco From Lidl Has Officially Been Named The Best In The World

Lidl Ireland’s Allini Conegliano Superiore Prosecco has officially been named the World’s Best Prosecco at the 2020 Sparkling Wine Awards.

The sparkling tipple, labelled as "extra dry", was awarded for its crisp flavours and pleasant aftertaste. It is recommended to drink alongside fish, vegetarian dishes and cured meats. 

To celebrate the commendation, Lidl has partnered with Irish Instagram foodies, the GastroGays, to create three bespoke cocktails using the retailer’s Allini Conegliano Superiore Prosecco as well as spirits from Lidl’s new Summer Spirits range.

First up is the Rhubarb Royale – a summery twist on the well-known Kir Royale.

You will need:

– Allini Conegliano Superiore (€12.99) 

– Hortus Rhubarb & Ginger Gin Liqueur (€14.99) 

– Lemon juice

Secondly is a Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri.

You will need:

– Korol Carbon Filtered Vodka (€17.99)

– Deluxe Strawberries (€2.79)

– Caster sugar

– Limes

- A pinch of fresh black pepper

Thirdly is a summer twist on the classic Clover Club, re-named the Berry Club.

You will need:

– Hampstead Strawberry Gin (€22.99) 

– Lemon juice

– Raspberry syrup

– An egg white

– Vermouth.

Allini Conegliano Superiore is available permanently in all 163 Lidl stores nationwide, while the retailer’s Summer Spirits range is available across the country for a limited time from July 13.
