We're not short on food options in Dublin but it's always good to welcome something new and interesting. And Loose Canon looks very interesting!
Located next door to the George's Street Arcade, on Drury Street this bodega style cheese and wine spot is from the brains behind the lovely Meet Me In The Morning in Portobello.
Brian O’Caoimh and Kevin Powell are big fans of wine and cheese (who isn't?) and have plenty of experience too. Kevin worked as a cheesemaker with Corleggy Cheeses, while and Brian founded the Coutume natural wine pop-up while managing a cafe in Paris.
The selection at Loose Canon will rotate seasonally but there'll be about 60 per cent Irish cheeses at any one time, and about 50 natural wines on offer too.
Open from 10.30am daily, on six evenings a week you can snack on cheeseboards, and Irish charcuterie from Gubbeen, The Wooded Pig and Broughgammon Farm. Plus there'll be cheese toasties available at lunchtimes - don't be surprised if you see an Irish Tatler staffer or two there!
You'll find Loose Caonon at 29 Drury Street, Dublin – keep an eye on its Instagram for more.
