Pamela Laird: The Irish Entrepreneur Reshaping The Beauty World

You might recognise her from this series of The Apprentice?

Proof that failure does not define you.

Founder of beauty brand Moxi Loves, Pamela Laird has had a long career in beauty – she’s the go-to nail technician for celebrities, TV shows and fashion editorial shoots and counts Olivia Palermo as a former client. Created in 2017, Moxi Loves (available in Penneys nationwide) delivers award-winning, travel-friendly, problem solvers that aim to simplify skincare routines. “I wanted to develop convenient products but without having to compromise on quality, ” explains Laird.

“Take Barefaced for example – our cleanser infused makeup removal pads. They are skin safe alternatives to wet wipes because they are dry and free from all the nasty ingredients that go into wet wipes to preserve the moisture! Not only that, they are good for the environment, they biodegrade in six months versus wet wipes that can take 100 years.”

Supremely focused and determined, Laird’s fierce entrepreneurial spirit is inspiring. Before launching Moxi Loves, she famously secured three Dragons' Den investment offers, only to turn them down in favour of another investor. “It was such an honour to get to appear on RTÉ’s Dragon’s Den,” says Laird. “I feel the experience really elevated my brand and myself as a businesswoman. It showed the nice side of who is behind the brand. I’m hoping my appearance on The Apprentice (currently on BBC1) can be added to this career highlight list too!”

I feel the experience really elevated my brand

For 2020 she’s excited for Moxi Loves to expand into the UK. “We have two award-winning products and a third coming this winter, so it’s a very exciting time.”
