Looking To Support Local Businesses In Need? Here Are Our Picks Of The Day

We're doing our best to help Irish businesses.

Even though we're all still practising social distancing and most of us are working from home, we still want to help support Irish food and drink producers.

We've decided to help our readers #ShopForIreland so we'll be posting every day to highlight producers around Ireland. Get in touch on our social channels with your suggestions on who we should write about.

Boutique Wines

Irish-owned and operated, Boutique Wines is offering nationwide delivery on their wide range of vino for just €7.

The company is promising zero-contact delivery, which is especially encouraging if you're self-isolating but would still like a glass of wine in the evenings. Head to boutiquewines.ie for more info.

Flipside

Open since 2018, Flipside in Sligo is an independent burger joint serving up 100 per cent Irish Angus grass-fed beef. With the eat-in restaurant closed, the team have flipped – get it? – to offer a fully contactless delivery service in the Sligo Town area.

Available between 5 - 10pm, you need to pay over the phone as no cash is being accepted at this time. Click here for the Flipside menu.

Cloud Picker

While the Cloud Picker café on Pearse Street is closed, Frank and Peter are still roasting coffee and selling it through their online store at cloudpickercoffee.ie.

As well as keeping the nation caffeinated, the duo have put their heads together to figure out how they can help those on the frontline. In a statement on their Instagram, they've announced that they're on the hunt for pre-loved but still working coffee brewers or French presses, which they will package up with delicious Cloud Picker coffee and instructions on how to use the machine, before delivering them out to frontline workers who need caffeine the most right now.

To donate, bring your machine to the Cloud Picker Roastery, knock at the window and the team will take it in to prepare it for delivery. We love this idea, so if you can support the guys in any way, please do!

F R O N T L I N E C O F F E E . . Ok - Since this madness started we’ve been wrecking our heads about what to do. Not only about our business or our employees but most importantly what we can do to help. We’re not medics, coffee is what we do & the frontline need to drink coffee. We all know coffee gives you energy but it also gives you a minute to stop and gather your thoughts before going back to task! That’s exactly what they need right now. WE’ll DONATE THE COFFEE but WE NEED YOUR BREWERS! This needs to be simple for the frontline guys to make. We are appealing for donations of your pre-loved (but working) coffee brewers or french press. No fancy Chemex or V60 or aeropress. If you can please deliver them to our roastery tomorrow between 1-4pm or Mon - Fri next week from 8am-4.30pm. Knock at the window and we’ll take it in. We will then prepare the pack with ground coffee and instructions on how to brew and then deliver them to frontline staff. Please get involved and share this with your friends . . Thank you, Frank, Peter & team. . . #frontlinecoffee #inittogether #dublin #support #donate #coffee
