The Beauty And Wellness Supplements Worth Knowing About

While there’s no real substitute for a balanced diet (and managing those stress levels) a targeted supplement may give skin, hair and wellbeing a boost

The interest in beauty-focused supplements, or edible beauty, is not new but it has exploded in recent years and it’s thought the edible beauty market could be worth $3.7bn globally by 2022.

Closer to home, Arnotts department store saw a 740 per cent increase in sales following the introduction of beauty supplement brands such as Advanced Nutrition Programme and The Nue Co to its Beauty Hub last year.

As interest in skin health and overall wellbeing increases, formulations have become more focused and sophisticated. These days, many supplements are chicly packaged and boast beneficial ingredients aimed at everything from reducing inflammation – a key factor in skin ageing – and encouraging hair growth to improving skin and general wellbeing by focusing on gut health.

Much as you’d pop a multi-vitamin every morning to supplement your diet, adding a beauty-focused capsule or drink to your daily routine just might shore up a few nutritional gaps  - and could have more of an impact than you might think.

The Skin Calmer

The Cell Booster

Cellular Regenerate, €57.50, Rejuvenated

The Plant-Based alternative
