The Restaurants Association of Ireland Has Launched A Universal Restaurant Voucher

The new voucher is available online.

Ever needed to get someone a gift but didn't know what to get them?

The Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) has just launched a new voucher system to ease your gifting woes.

The RAI has launched a universal restaurant voucher, redeemable in 3,000 locations around the country. The new voucher system is the first of its kind and is powered by Blockchain technology, a system which offers data immutability, security and transparency, so you can be sure that all of your transactions are safe and secure.

The system was created by tech companies eosDublin and Europechain, both of which help to support Blockchain's systems.

While this universal restaurant voucher seems to have a highly technical background, the most important and exciting thing for us is that the RAI has found a way to securely offer a digital gift voucher that can be used in their member locations around the country.

Simple, yet effective

Vouchers can often be tricky for individual restaurants to manage, so this universal restaurant voucher system provides a dashboard for each outlet that will show them real-time sales, revenue forecast and more, taking the hassle out of the process for restaurateurs and staff.

Speaking about the voucher, Adrian Cummins, chef executive of the RAI, commented on how the system would allow Irish restaurants to be at the forefront of new technology:

“The RAI is proud to offer a nationwide restaurant voucher for all participating members. We were excited to hear that the platform was being built using the latest class-leading technology and are happy to be part of this initiative. We look forward to building on our initial success for the years to come," he said.

“Currently it can be difficult for individual restaurants to offer gift vouchers. They can be tricky to track, manage and process. In addition, when giving a gift of a meal, it is fantastic to offer a choice of restaurant, so your recipient can make the choice of dining.”

The RAI listings and voucher site allows users to see participating restaurants by location and the vouchers are available in €10 increments between €20 - €1,000. For more information, click here.
