Pixels are like, so hot right now.
In a world that is drunk on the romanticised idea of nostalgia, it was only a matter of time before the naughties took centre stage. Earlier this week, Jeremy Scott began to tease out his latest Moschino collection with pixelated outfits which many presumed were in to keep the garments a secret. But much to our surprise (and somewhat delight) those pixels were intentional as Moschino's latest capsule collection is a collaboration with the Sims - you know that computer game you devoted hours and hours of your childhood to?
Thanks to an improved processor and Scott's computer game inspired collection, your childhood ambition to be a real life sim is now a reality as you can shop the range IRL. Unfortunately, that is where your sim inspired life will end because trapping yourself in a pool in order to get a fresh start in the game will not work in real life.
Rather fittingly, the collection is set to be unveiled in the alternative reality that is Coachella, where Scott is hosting a Palm Springs Desert Party. The Moschino x the Sims spring/summer 2019 ready-to-wear and accessories collection (try saying that three times fast) will include eight limited-edition pieces.
From the teaser campaign, it looks like there will be hints of classic Moschino with signature slogans, like "I don't speak Italian, but I do speak Moschino" combined with classic the Sims symbols, like the green diamond-shaped emblem --which thanks to Scott, you can now wear as earrings.
From pixelated denim jeans and jackets to crop tops, hoodies and presumably more affordable accessories like phone cases, the Moschino Sims collection will drop on April 13.
