Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, turns 39 today.
And while the world may look a little different when compared with her 38th birthday, one thing remains the same: her special day was marked with a myriad of birthday wishes from the royal family on social media.
A photo of Meghan from a number of years back chatting to a little girl during a royal engagement was posted on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Instagram account on the morning of the 4 August, with the message: “Wishing a very happy birthday to the Duchess of Sussex today!”
Prince Charles’s Clarence House account also shared a photograph of the Duchess with a birthday message, complete with balloon emoji, and the official Buckingham Palace feed featured a throwback snap of Meghan’s joint visit to Chester with the Queen in the summer of 2018.
“Wishing the Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!” the caption reads.

Meghan's real-life birthday celebrations will also look a little different from last year, where the family marked her birthday at their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, with a small family celebration while the Duchess was on maternity leave with the couple’s then three-month-old baby boy.
This year, she, Harry and their son Archie Harrison will celebrate in LA, having set up home there earlier this year.
