Find out everything you need to know about Winter Love Island below…
When is Winter Love Island on TV?
Sooner than you’d think. The brand new series is hitting our screens straight after the Christmas slump, with sources reporting Winter Love Island start date is the 8th January 2020.
According to MailOnline, staff working on the show are jetting off to South Africa, on New Year’s Day (January 1) and have a week to prepare before the official anticipated launch on January 8.
A TV source said: “The new Winter Love Island will launch the second week of January.
“Bosses are still deciding on the final date but it is thought to be January 8 – a week after staff arrive in South Africa. It has been decided that the show will run for six weeks instead of the usual eight.
Where is Winter Love Island set?
Caroline Flack confirmed during the Love Island 2019 finale that the show that the winter series will be taking place in Cape Town.
The South African summer runs from December-March, so it should be hot enough for all the Islanders to get their abs out while you sit on the couch eating your third selection box of the day.
Who are the contestants in Winter Love Island?
Although the exact line-up isn’t yet confirmed, the rumour mill is already spinning, with a few names already tipped to be joining the show.
According to The Sun, fitness instructor Ellis Iyayi will be the first boy to enter the villa. The Leeds-based personal trainer has been headhunted for the ITV2 competition.
Aside from his work in the gym, Ellis has also modelled for ASOS, Nike, JD Sports and GymShark. A personal trainer/model? Yeah, that sounds like a Love Islander to us.
Rumours were also suggesting that Katie Price's ex-toyboy Charles Drury had signed on for the villa.
Charles hit out at the speculation though, branding the rumours "fake news."
Finally, fans think that model Jay Munro may be setting up shop in the Capetown Villa in January. Munro is best known for lending his voice to the Aussie version of The Voice.
Is there a trailer for Winter Love Island?
YES, THERE ARE TWO!.
In the first trailer, a Love Island-themed aeroplane is seen soaring across a bright blue sky while flying a bold banner with the words: "Do one, winter", emblazoned across it.
The reflection of the aeroplane is seen in a mystery contestant's rose-tinted aviator shades and the iconic Love Island theme-tune sound is played in the background.
But now the first proper trailer has dropped, featuring Iain Stirling's infamous voice over and a brief appearance from the show's frontwoman, Caroline Flack. In the trailer, lovably sarcastic Iain can be heard saying: "Oh winter, what is your problem? Every year you make it so Baltic our toes go numb and we want to hide under our duvets."
The camera then pans to reveal a huge stretching pool against a stunning leafy backdrop, with Cape Town's Table Mountain visible in the background. Naturally, the villa was full of perfectly chiselled hotties in their swimwear, too. Would we expect anything less?
Will Caroline Flack and Iain Sterling BE RETURNING?
Flack will indeed be back for another villa attack (as demonstrated by her numerous Instagram images confirming same) and voiceover hero Iain Stirling will also be joining her, provide his witticisms for series six in South Africa.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, he teased, “Do you know what, it’s gonna be an absolute blast. Winter Love Island is gonna come back sooner than you thought and it’s gonna be enjoyable.”
She also took to Instagram this week to reveal her having her hair and make-up done for the opening commercial.
She said: "We have just landed in Cape Town for Winter Love Island.
"We are not sure what to expect, we don't usually film it in the winter do we?
As her stylist tended to her hair and make-up, Caroline added: "We are trying to decide what the hairstyle is going to be for this year's Love Island.
"I think I might go to a bob - I might bob it up."
Dropping a huge hint as to the location of the newest Love Island villa, Caroline tagged it as 20 minutes drive from the Lion's Head mountain, in Cape Town.
She later tagged a snap of the garment in question with the caption: "Day 1 shoot ... hair and make-up."
can I still apply to be on winter love island?
Applications for the first Love Island of 2020 are still open, with the closing date being 30th November 2019. To apply, click here.
When will the Christmas reunion special happening?
Sadly, it's not.
It's been all but confirmed there will be no 'Love Island' Christmas reunion episode this year because the show's crew is now focusing all their attention on the inaugural 'Winter Love Island'.
This means, no sussing out if Maura and Curtis's romance is the real deal, no witnessing Amber tearing Greg apart, and no swooning over Ovie one last time.
